3D ATOE board(s)

RE: 3D ATOE board(s)
Thanks. To be honest, I've been tinkering with making my own fantasy game for about 4 years. I've built some games in the past like Warhammer 40k Monopoly before GW did it. Also made a racing game that GW actually featured in their newsletter. But I always wanted a game that was mid-tier so speak. Low tier meaning dungeon crawler and high tier being tabletop wargame. Then 2 years ago or thereabouts I saw a post about Atoe. I really liked the look as it was mid tier but I have never really been into the love-craftian style. However, I felt it was perfect to be made into a fantasy game with some added components from my own game design. Basically things I loved from other games but made to fantasy. And voila. I call it Warhammer Adventure. As I mainly have warhammer fantasy miniatures and love the Old World (oldhammer). Plus I have about 14 warhammer fantasy armies as well. So a lot of Villains and heroes to use plus NPCs. Can't wait till it's all done and the cards are printed for use. The story design I've done has been a lot of work and is really good, if I don't say so myself. I love game design.
But I am pretty happy as well that I was able to finally get Fortune and Glory at a decent price and it is in the mail. Can't wait for that to hit the table as well. Who knows, FaG 40k might be in the future...

Really looking forward to seeing this project completed.

Great looking Scenery!

The setup reminds me of a map from Vermintide 2. Spectacular!

RE: 3D ATOE board(s)
Thanks. But still a ways to go. A few pieces still need to be finished painting and road posts and signs are being 3d printed this week. Plus I'd like to paint all the trees and make a mountainous area around the abbey at some point. But the problem is that if you keep designing or building, you don't get to play and have fun which can lead to burn-out. Thus why I have decided to take a break from the cards and just paint and play for a bit.

Thanks. Replies like this help me carry on. Really validates the work I've put in to it. I do think, however, when all the cards are done, then a wow will be warranted. Going to start getting them printed up next week.

Thanks. It definitely is tbh. Everytime I walk in the hobby room, I just stand for a second and take it all in. And now playing on it is such a cool experience as well.

Battle with a random creature Cygor. Once again the Witch hunter needed to be saved from certain death.

The militia paint scheme and first 3 done.

A wandering militia that got devoured by a wandering Troglodon but it should be noted, they went down swinging and wounded the beast twice before being eaten.

Added some chaos turkeys....Raptoryx, to the forest.

The Celestial Wizard and his Warrior priest NPC, taking on a Haunting at the Blacksmiths. It did not go as intended as the Hangman (hooded ghost) is nasty. Ended up fleeing for he hills and going the wrong way which would lead to them not even being able to attempt to make it to the Showdown at the Island. They did return for a second time and defeated the ghost but too little, too late.

The Skaven taking over the Castle (manor). So many came from the castle, it must have had tunnels galore below it.

The Witchhunter almost demise. As we all headed in the same direction towards the island to take on the Verminlord, in a very narrative fashion that just happened do to dice rolls, Skaven came from out of nowhere, in droves, to assault the heroes. The Witchhunter had to use every trick in the book, plus sacrificing his NPC and any cards the Halfling had for the showdown, to just come out of it with 1 wound remaining. But by doing so. the fallen NPC advanced the tracker and lost us the game.

Meanwhile the Elven prince and the Halfling warden were set to take on the Villain but also got swarmed by Skaven. However the Elven prince had really come into form after a bad start and literally was a wrecking machine having finished off the Cygor, killing 2 Rat ogres, several clan rats, and loads of giant rats, he really was the mvp of this game. He also had loads of cards saved up to nuke the Villain with and protect himself, had, had the game gone 1 more turn. But no. The witchhunter, that almost died twice during the game, lost it all. It was a groan moment.

And with that, our first game came to an end. Even though we lost, we had a blast and everyone enjoyed it.

Lol, maybe a bit too much but I've always been that way. All in! But I'd rather not have the regret of "what if I'd built that table. And with the cards nearing completion, and quite a few more people asking to come over to give the game a go, it'll be worth it for the laughs and fun. I'm glad other people like seeing it as well.

Here's too our next game but first, we just started our first Fortune and Glory game as it came in the mail a week ago.

Some awesome mini painting skill there as well as the scenery. I really enjoyed checking out the pictures. I especially liked the militia (Advanced Heroquest Henchmen if I'm not mistaken ;D ).
