A Touch of Evil not seeing table time?
I just noticed that not many have been posting much about ATOE as of late? Looks as though LNOE seems to have more replayability or folks are not as interested in ATOE?

That being said my group played it once and have not played since. They seem more interested in playing LNOE. Anyone else finding this?

RE: A Touch of Evil not seeing table time?
I totaly have no interest in ATOE so I haven't even checked it out. I wouldn't mind playing it to try it out but there is nobody that I know who has that game.
FLying Frog has yet to make his grand entry here in the Belgian shops I think hehehe

My local gamestore has LNEO and the expansions but that is only because I told the owner about it. I also said that ATEO was out but haven't seen it in the store.

I am the reason God stopped watching.

Barbarians:P -I like AToE over LNoE but thats mainly
due to the Theme.AToE seems to be taking a beating over
on the AmeriTrash Forums due to mechanics.Which
I don't agree with as I find the game rather elegant.

I'm in the final stages of marrying AToE to AH so
actual play time is down-I haven't played all the Villains yet!

AToE seems to be holding its own on BGG but a good
Expansion (not just more Cards)would help.

The biggest things that keep my group with LNOE more than ATOE are:
(1) the randomization -- the game's just that much more different each time (scenarios, heroes, board configuration...)
(2) the rules for LNOE are much easier to explain to people and to keep in mind. ATOE has a lot of cross referencing ability cards, and definitely has a steeper learning curve.

The modular Boards of LNoE do give it a range
of playability that AToE Game Board Map lacks.

Different Heros & Villains, even more Cards only go so far.
Thats why I hope an Expansion with another Game Board
will be released.I'm getting around this by using
the Arkham Horror/Dunwich/Kingsport Boards & even a
Generic design your own Board.

RE: A Touch of Evil not seeing table time?
We tend to play 50/50 between LNoE & AToE and thoroughly enjoy both games.

We played AToE tonight and lost due to the Shadowtrack reaching 0. We were playing against the Dryad, with Inspector Cooke and Karl, the soldier. We both needed to train our Cunning and Spirit to total above 8 to beat the Dryad's Sorceress ability (making anyone with a total less than 8 have to roll a natural 6 to hit) which took some time due to bad rolls. Then very early on we drew the Mystery card which makes the Shadowtrack move 1 step each Mystery phase (can't remember the card name) and it took us ages to get an event card which could cancel it.

At the end, we had 2 steps left on the Shadowtrack, and I playing as Cooke was all tooled up ready for the showdown and needed to get a 5 to move to my laircard (the Olde Woods) but rolled a 3 and then the bloody Mystery card I turned over moved the Shadowtrack 2 steps.....D'Oh!!!

Ah well....we had great fun trying!!!

Nice Game Z67;)The Dryad is brutal on the Shadow Track.
We avoided the Living Trees as they are tought
cookies ,the result was we max them out on the Board
& they began to move the Shadow Track down.

Thematically, I like the hopelessness of the Zombie beatdown...but both games are really fun in their own right.

My wife prefers to play ATOE with me....so, as long as I'm playing something, it's all good.

RE: A Touch of Evil not seeing table time?
We started a game tonight, but had to put it away before completion because the wife was too wiped to see it through.

Early indications is that Last Night on Earth will see more play, because it's more of a "beer and pretzels" game than ATOE. We were a tad dismayed as the first round began with The Spectral Horsemen kicking my butt and then mowing down the wife on its path to Town Hall...and he proceeded to strike again and again over the next few turns, soundly thrashing Thomas, The Courier (my wife) pretty much every round.

We were both feeling hosed, but then started making a comeback before she was too wiped to play.

We will definitely give it a shot again.

I like what I saw, and I can see how different scenarios would play out differently (Katarina felt disadvantaged against a board full of ghost soldiers, but I could see that TOTALLY playing out differently with more physical adversaries).

Good times...but yeah, I doubt it gets quite as much play as LNOE.

Ouch...but it is rather unusal to get the Horseman so many times. One thing I noticed that is you need to make sure all the decks are shuffled very well.

The first couple of Games we tended to draw the same cards
in a row.
