Just some general thoughts about Mario Bava since I have listed 4 of his movies here (and I had already reviewed one other earlier - Black Sabbath).

Bava is a great artist when it comes to composing a scene, using interesting colors, and creating a vivid image. However, the lack of effort he puts into creating an understandable plot is a bit alarming. I also get a great deal of enjoyment from seeing characters developed into people we care about one way or another. Bava sometimes completely skips character development.

As talented as Bava is in some aspects, I care too much about plot and rich characters to fully enjoy his films. I would like to hear what other people out there think about Mario Bava's movies.

I remember watching the Jason films as a kid and thinking he was the coolest badie ever. I always thought these films fell into the bracket of (so bad they're good)
