RE: Oh, those poor heros.
I have the same trouble with Die Zombies Die. The revolver is useless for me. I never hit anything with it.
You just need to keep hacking at those zombies, and running away only when there are too many of them, or you're hurting. I find it easier to pair up Heros as well. Also, if the hangar is on the board, use that signal flare until the area is over run. |

RE: Oh, those poor heros.
Anybody use this rule (from first page)
2. Regardless of they win or lose, if the Hero rolls doubles, the zombie takes a wound. (effectively killing the zombie). This still doesn't happen nearly enough. I actually like the rule, and since it is still relatively rare, doesn't seem to alter the balance much. In essence, the hero rolling doubles ALWAYS wounds a zombie. It has added some nice tension to fights for us, a few times both the hero and the zombie were wounded....the zombie dies, but the hero staggers away, hurt, but alive. |

RE: Oh, those poor heros.
This helps in speeding up the game but does kind of makes searching for weapons useless.
But I'm willing to try this out. Just to make sure we do this correctly: Heroes win on doubles Zombies get a punch trough if there roll is higher than the hero roll? I am the reason God stopped watching. |

RE: Oh, those poor heros.
Emp Wrote:Heroes win on doubles Heroes don't necessarily 'win' on doubles. But they do 'wound' on doubles. (that is enough to kill 'normal' zombies) The zombies still do damage with a higher roll. I like it because it simulates both sides taking damage during a fight (seems realistic to me). Using this rule, there are now four outcomes from a fight: Hero rolls doubles, beats Zombie fight dice: ZOMBIE WOUNDED Hero rolls lower, zombie wins: HERO WOUNDED: Hero rolls higher than zombie (no doubles): NO WOUNDS (fended off) Hero rolls lower but got doubles: BOTH WOUNDED It does help speed the game along, but it doesn't happen quite as often as you'd think (or like if you are the living). Of course, this rule is really only good if you feel the Heros have too great of a disadvantage. If you already feel the game or the scenario is balanced, this rule pushes the balance towards the hero. |
