Ouch! So, deck size obviously CAN be a hindrance. But, it seems like that could be more the luck of the draw kind of thing. There are usually several of each item or type of item, not to mention the cards that let you specifically find a scenario search item. So, it should hopefully be pretty balanced regardless. Just, sometimes the heroes get an unlucky shuffle.

And don't forget the zombie "Play Immediately" cards which add to the Hero discard pile.

Good point. Those cards are always a bit of a mixed bag for the zombies. On the one hand, it allows them to discard a bunch of stuff, and often times it was stuff the heroes may have wanted to use. On the other hand, it does make it up for grabs from any appropriate pick up location, as well as certain other cards the heroes may get.
