Isn't France suposed to be wine country? Naming something in the US wine country sounds like calling the UK Beer Country to me

I've been to the breweries of several. St Austels, Theakstons and Black Sheep's. The UK make the best Real Ale and Bitter in the World. North Carolina & my own South Jersey also put out some decent stuff. In fact when the French Vines got the blight they were replaced with ones from California. Yeah yeah and the dutch have very fine quisine (because they have those special legal herbs)
