Zombie Heroes, fight like heroes or zombies
Brother in law and I had a dispute about this last night during an intense plague carrier game. Does a ZH resolve its fights as a hero in which losing the fight causes a wound or as a zombie in which a double is needed to wound.

RE: Zombie Heroes, fight like heroes or zombies
Zombie heroes are zombies who (A) move faster and (B) have more than one wound box. IE, they resolve as zombies.

RE: Zombie Heroes, fight like heroes or zombies
From the FAQ:
Zombie Heroes are never considered to be a 'Hero' in
any way (Rules p19). The name 'Zombie Hero' more refers to the fact that they are a Zombie that was once a Hero rather than that they are a hero to Zombiekind. It's also worth noting that if a card or rule says killed instead of wounded it does fill up a ZH's wound boxes and take them out of the game. The game is super-literal in it's wording, you can tell the folks at FFG spent a lot of time playing board games and thinking about phrasing and the like. |

RE: Zombie Heroes, fight like heroes or zombies
I dont think you guys answered what he was asking.
I believe he is wanting to know that if you are resolving fight dice with a Zombie Hero, such as: Zombie Rolls a 5 Hero Rolls a 4 and a 6 obviously the Hero fended off the Zombie, but does the zombie take a wound? OR Zombie Rolls a 5 Hero Rolls Double 6's obviously the Hero won, but does this count as a wound, or would doubles fill up the rest of the Zombie Heroes wounds to kill it? I think this is clarifying a little more to what wizsoto was asking. If it is, I think this is a good question, because I've been playing a while and I have never had this come up, but I have wondered about it. (usually when i fight ZH's, I want a instant kill weapon on me) To answer the question though, in my opinion, I would think if you beat a Zombie with out doubles, no wounds would be placed. If you beat a Zombie with doubles I would say it would take a wound. (But in my opinion, I think its pretty hard to beat a zombie with 2 dice and rolling doubles, so I would probably play it to be dead) I only say I would play it like that because a ZH, can chase you around the board really easily, and if you don't have any weapons, it can easily overwhelm a Hero, but then again that's what makes zombies fun. Hope that helped ~If we are being chased by Zombies, I'm tripping you!!! |

RE: Zombie Heroes, fight like heroes or zombies
The answer's pretty clear: the zombie hero never counts as a hero. It's a zombie in every way, including how you resolve the dice rolls.

RE: Zombie Heroes, fight like heroes or zombies
Hi, I think was pretty close and mqstout is to clear, lol
In Pred's example; Zombie Rolls a 5 Hero Rolls a 4 and a 6 obviously the Hero fended off the Zombie, but does the zombie take a wound ? No, no double were rolled. OR Zombie Rolls a 5 Hero Rolls Double 6's obviously the Hero won, but does this count as a wound, or would doubles fill up the rest of the Zombie Heroes wounds to kill it ? A win only delivers 1 wound. A normal Zombie might be eliminated, where a Zombie Hero only takes 1 wound. Does a ZH resolve its fights as a hero in which losing the fight causes a wound or as a zombie in which a double is needed to wound. If a Zh loses a fight or is Fended Off, no wounds are received to the ZH. If a Hero rolls doubles and the ZH loses the fight, the ZH receives a wound. If the ZH rolls double, the Hero should be scared. " Feed me your Flesh " |

RE: Zombie Heroes, fight like heroes or zombies
Agreed. ZH are basically only zombies who move faster and have more than one wound ability.

RE: Zombie Heroes, fight like heroes or zombies
Rulebook Page 19: Zombie Heroes work just like normal Zombies with the following exceptions: (there are 3, none are relevant)
[1: move faster, 2: hero style wounds counts, 3: none of the former heroes special powers ] So Zombie Heroes fight exactly the same way Zombies do, for the same reasons and with the same dice, which have the same meaning. So they are no better than regular Zombies in a fight, except maybe having a slightly better unlife expectancy due to the higher wound count. For the other part of you question, YES, a regular Hero still needs a double to cause a Zombie Hero to take One Wound, just like he would need to cause a regular Zombie a Wound. The difference being one wound typically see a regular zombie off the board, while a Zombie Hero will usually have 2-4 wound slots. Fending off a Zombie Hero causes no more harm to it than Fending off a regular Zombie does (ie none). Otherwise, it would be clearly listed in the Exceptions list in the rules. Brother-in-Law's are EVIL, I suggest you feed him to the next Zombie you meet. |

If you follow this link http://www.thezombiegame.com/forums/Thre...son-C-Hill
Then choose the 'find on page' option it will take you to 90%* of all rule questions. The last 10% should be decided by a house rule, dice roll or trial by combat. Hope this helps |
