Those are really nice. The zombies are a nice balance- not too gorey, nice and dead looking without being all dirty or bright green or what have you. Have you done much painting in the past?

I have been painting alot more since then and the more I do it, the
more I want it to become more and more a real hobby of mine. Just,
by the look, and I'm not critizeing because I like them, but it seems
you jumped right into painting like I did with out reading more about
techniques. Trev has some GREAT! guides on how to get more detail
out of your figs and make them literally come alive! Also its looks like
you did the same thing I did, not thinning the paint with some water.
If you try this out, you see it takes a little longer to really bring that
color out, but the detail that is left on your figs makes it totally worth
the extra time to layer the coats.
Read some of these threads. They look long but its a quick read.
Anything you don't understand in Trev's forums, watch some
youtube vids about what he's talking about. That's what I did, and
have had a lot more fun in getting very detailed.
Did great job on the zombies.

Thanks for the comments and tips. I've asked for the GH expansion for Chsitmas so I will try the "thinning down the paint" tip on the new characters. I have painted GW LOTR figures before but the inks can sometimes darken the models too much.

I think you did really well for your first effort (much better than my first figures!) and I'm sure you took a lot of time on them. You should be happy with the results. Just keep at it now. It's a great hobby and you will improve with practice. I look forward to seeing more of your painting

I've now finished the Growing Hunger hero characters and have added them to my "The Cast" gallery. I still haven't solved the problem of thick paint on the faces, despite watering down my GW Flesh paint.

But I'm still happy and think the models look 100% better than if left unpainted.

Great job. I like Sam the best. His apron came out really good, as did his hand and chainsaw. Amanda's dress came out pretty good too. You should definitely keep it up; you seem to have a natural talent for it.

Have you considered doing the bases on your figs also? It isn't too late, if you want. I did mine after painting the first few, and I think they look way more finished that way. Plus, it is relatively fast and easy. Check out the tutorials in "A brush with Death" in SamuraiTrev's Tomb in the forums on this site for some good pointers.

Man these are awesome, you are definetly inspiring me but I doubt I could paint the details finely enough for them to look tis good. Maybe if I could view them through a telescope and still paint them\
