Killed means killed right? Not take a wound.
That's how we played it, just wanted to see if others did the same.
Killed means to fill up all the wound boxes a model has... however each single of this wounds could be prevented...
In a case a zombie with fighting instincts were a zombie gets a chainsaw and wins the fight to kill Rachelle

She may try to prevent all wounds she is about to suffer which is 3.

If she rolls for instance 2 sixes, she prevents 2 wounds and suffer only one wound. Not being killed at all.
Is that from the Grave Weapons expansion?
I don't have that one... yet.

Is there zombie cards where the zombie hero could prevent chainsaw wounds? Can't think of any off the top of my head.
Rotten bodies would prevent the last wound to a zombie hero for instance.

Rotten Bodies:
Remove 1d6 zombies from the board, all other zombies may not be killed in any way until the start of the next zombie turn.

So a zombie hero with 3 health could take 2 wounds but not the last one and die.

Check on http://www.flyingfrogwiki.com/ the master card list can tell you exactly from which expasion those cards are. =D

Are you sure about that ? Does her Hero Card read vs wound or vs Kill ? I think Rachelle can not use her instinct to prevent a Kill ??????????

Anyone ? Anyone ? Buller ?
I just *love* using the cards that let the Zombies use weapons against the heroes. Yes, killed means killed!

But, as we've discussed before (at length, actually -- search for the thread), preventing a wound (including Rachelle) will leave the hero alive with one free wound, unless it's an INSTANTLY killed.

Reminder: Zombie heroes don't have hero abilities other than wound count.
May ignore any Wound on the roll of 6+

But rachelle's ability will work once for each wound applied... so three wounds at a time... yes she get a single roll for each wound and if she roll 6-6-6... no damage applied... She is not preventing the instant kill she is trying to prevent a single wound a time.

So OK, now im totally confused. Im down with Rachelle getting a roll to prevent a wound, she always can (unless instant etc...)

But for each wound ? Thats a new one to me ?
Trying to clarify... how stuff goes...

Fight - Resolution of the fight - Applying wounds

Insntatly kills - ends the fight resolves it in the favor of the part instantly killing but does not resolve the phase where you should apply wounds.

That's why for instance a just a scratch could prevent a death of a hero being instantly killed. But principal gomez that would cancel a fight not.

Because the fight ends and you will receive the most wounds you can. But you still get the opportunity to prevent any or even all of those wounds you are about to get.

So 3 wounds for rachelle - since her ability does not work only once per turn... she may try to prevent all of them... and if miraculously roll 6-6-6... she prevented all of them... endind up not being instantly killed.

Instantly kill - means only that you instantly win with wounds for all the health boxes of your opponent...

Uh ohhh Can-O-Worms

Instantly kill means Instantly Kill,
Normal Resolution of a fight
Roll Fight Dice
Apply cards and abilities
Resovle fight

The Instant ability skipps the ability to Apply Cards and Abilities.
Hence when a Zombie is instantly killed by a Meat Clever the Zombie Player can not play cards or abilities
When a Hero is instantly killed by a Meat clever.....or what ever the Hero Player can not play cards or abilities

That is why Jade can roll Doubles 1's and lose the fight with barbed wire. Resulting ina wound.

I do not think Gomez could save the Hero either.

Page 16 If a card is used to cancel a fight, that fight has immediatley ended without being resolved ( no wins or loses the fight)

The use of an instantly Kill, resolves the fight. Playing a "cancel fight" card is to late. The fight has resolved. If a hero instantly loses a fight with barbed wire, the fight has resolved. The use of cards and abilities has been omitted.

Im still cloudy about Rachelle rolling for each wound when there is a Kill Action.
