Super Dungeon Explore - wisdomknight - 10-26-2012 07:31 PM Any opinions? Im really trying to find one more "new" surprise for my family for Xmas thats not just an expansion. Something totally different. Not to mention we dont have a DnD or medieval fantasy board game yet. http://sodapopminiatures.com/content/super-dungeon-explore http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/92190/super-dungeon-explore RE: Super Dungeon Explore - mqstout - 10-27-2012 03:14 AM Its GREAT fun. It has some quirky rules that can be hard to wrap your head around (largely due to layout issues, one might say). I'd say it's a more complicated and strategic game than LNOE, but certainly in the same "family". It is a bit pricey though. RE: Super Dungeon Explore - phantomninja - 10-27-2012 03:26 AM I had to pass on this one. I loved putting the miniatures together but once it got to game play I was very "meh" about it. I highly prefer Descent 2.0 over SDE RE: Super Dungeon Explore - wisdomknight - 10-27-2012 03:28 AM How's the playability? RE: Super Dungeon Explore - wisdomknight - 12-04-2012 06:14 PM sorry, I meant re-playability Also, I am wondering how customizable this is. I mean can one make tiles and new heroes/monsters easily so that the rules work with everything smoothly and balanced? RE: Super Dungeon Explore - mqstout - 12-04-2012 08:47 PM Pretty easy if you'd wanted to. RE: Super Dungeon Explore - wisdomknight - 12-04-2012 09:23 PM thanks MQS, I was hoping. SDE seems very limited as to the tiles they offer. RE: Super Dungeon Explore - mqstout - 12-04-2012 09:46 PM The tiles aren't terribly important, actually. There's just "clear space" "not usable space/wall" and "lava". Most things have long enough movements or ranges that it just doesn't matter throughout most of the game. Also note that tiles are selected and not randomly drawn -- so printing your own is easier. RE: Super Dungeon Explore - wisdomknight - 12-04-2012 10:18 PM Thats interesting, So it more of the actual monsters than anything that affect the game then? RE: Super Dungeon Explore - mqstout - 12-04-2012 10:40 PM Yep. The models (characters/monsters) and the loot cards drawn. |
