RE: What games have you bought recently?
HoldFast Pacific

I've had one of my historical Games relapses ,
so I purchased Worthington Games Holdfast Pacific.

It's an updating of an old AH Game Victory in the Pacific.
(which I sold off several years ago). The cool thing
about this Game is that it's a Block Game rather
than counters that the original game offered,
it's also had its fiddly bits streamlined.

The Game concentrates on the Naval Campaigns
& Island hopping. The China/Burma /India Theaters
are ignored as they were basically stalemated and
the real action was with the Navies.

When I picked up the AH Game the lack of being able
to have China/Burma & India land battles was a
drawback for me but now I realize these were really
sideshows that would add nothing but more time &
rules to the game.

The Blocks represent all the Capital Ships individually &
Cruiser Groups for the supporting ships. The Marine
& Air Units are also have Blocks .

OD

Sighing like the night wind and sobbing like the rain,—
Wailing for the lost one that comes not again:
