We use a method i read about here or at TBG, where you pick 4 at random, then ZP bans 2 heroes, Hero Players ban another 2, then ZP adds 2 to the pool and the HPs add another 2. So you end up with an 8 heroes pool where the HPs can choose from. This makes it semi-random, you get to play with all the heroes eventually and no one has to pick a very bad hero, at least in the beggining.
